About Martin Börlin
I’m Martin Börlin — product & technology leader, author of North Star Framework from the Trenches, and creator of NSF Board.
I’ve spent the better part of the last decade helping product, engineering and cross-functional teams create clarity, alignment and real impact.
Across startups, scale-ups and mature organisations, I’ve seen the same patterns repeat: strategy that doesn’t reach the teams, goals that don’t connect to outcomes, misalignment across departments, and teams drowning in tools but missing direction.
The North Star Framework changed the way my teams worked. This site, the book, and NSF Board exist to help others get the same clarity — without unnecessary complexity.
My approach is simple: focus → alignment → measurable progress.
What I do
Today I work on three things:
- NSF Board — a lightweight tool for putting the North Star Framework into daily practice.
- North Star Framework from the Trenches — a practical book on how to introduce, run and scale NSF in real companies.
- Consulting & Workshops — hands-on support for teams and organisations who want to adopt NSF or strengthen their product operating model.
How I work
